It's no secret that text is one of the most crucial ranking factors. Analyzing the reasons for the low text relevance is a complex task even for experienced SEO specialists.

To automate this routine process we have created our Text Analysis SEO tool. Now, let's go over some cases where it becomes an irreplaceable assistant to any SEO expert.

What is Text Analytics, and what problems does it solve?

Text analytics is a unique tool for optimizing text on website pages. Content is one of the main ranking factors, and our tool was created specifically to help you optimize texts on your website.

Let's say your landing page ranks poorly for the target keywords. It means you need to change the content of the page to increase its text relevance. This is where Text Analysis comes in handy, as it generates recommendations for content optimization.

What tasks can Serpstat Text Analysis tackle?

You can use our tool to fix several problems at once:
Assign tasks for copywriters based on the analysis of top-performing competitors' texts.
Analyze the relevance and textual ranking factors of your page.
Find more relevant keywords for your page.
Analyze the main keywords of the topic and get a list of LSI-keywords.
The Text Analysis tool is connected with the Keyword Clustering tool. It not only groups keywords for individual pages but also selects a page (URL) of a domain for a specific cluster to conduct Text Analysis on it.

How to perform an SEO Content Analysis with the Text Analytics Tool?

Before diving deeper into Text Analysis, you first need to set up the tool.
As already mentioned, Keyword Clustering and Text Analysis are two mutually reinforcing on-page SEO analysis tools. Therefore, to begin analyzing the page content, you first need to cluster the keywords. Read more about how to do this.

As a result of the clustering, we get sets of keywords for individual URLs. You can also edit groups of keywords manually, delete, move or add keywords. To do this, click on the icon in the upper right corner of the cluster.

When the cluster is ready, you can start conducting Text Analysis. To do this, press the TA button in the upper right corner.

Text analytics is carried out based on the:
1
Target page, if you specified a URL during the setup.
2
List of grouped keywords from the cluster for which your page is optimized.
3
SEO text analysis of competitors pages from the top 15 search results.
If you specify a target URL, Serpstat will analyze the page content and give keyword recommendations, based on the content of top competitors.

To set a page for a cluster, click Add URL in the upper left corner.

If the target URL was not specified, the recommendations of the service would be based on the analysis of a group of competitors from the top 15 by keyword. However, some reports, for example, Body Text will not be available.

What can you use Text Analysis for?

#1 Monitoring keyword relevance on a page

The page doesn't have to contain all words of the search query in exact order to rank for it. The keywords should be distributed throughout the page content.

For instance, a user types buy Acer 310x laptop into a search bar, and there's a product page on our website for it.

The page doesn't need to have this exact wording. If the page is called Acer 310x laptop, or even Acer 310x, and there is a Buy/Purchase button on it, the search engine understands that the page is relevant to the user's request.

There are two main indicators:
Proximity level is an index that shows the semantic proximity of the keyword to the cluster topic on a scale from zero to 100.

Relevance is the scale that shows whether the page matches the keyword in comparison with competitors. When you point the cursor over the color bar, you will see the average relevance index among the group of competing pages for this phrase and the page relevance.
как провести текстовую аналитику
A common difficulty SEOs encounter when analyzing the reasons for low rankings for a query is the analysis of each word: is it included on the page, is it used often enough, and are the words and queries too far apart from one another? The advantage of Serpstat's Text Analysis is that it shows you which keywords are irrelevant to the page topic and displays a general metric for the search query.

The first question that arises: is the indicator that we got good or bad? To answer it, the service shows the relevance scale, based on the competitor analysis. This is the average value indicated by the green area.

If we approach the minimum value, it means that the words from the query are too far apart in the text on the page, or are seldom used.

If we see that the indicator is approaching the maximum, then this indicates spam. You can remove some of the repeated words, or distribute them less often in the text.
Before you change anything on the page according to the indicators of Text Analysis, check your page's positions for this query. If the SERP ranking is low, it's a clear sign you should change the content.

#2 Collecting the most significant keywords for Title and H1

For the page to rank higher in search results it's important to figure out what words are the most significant for the topic. Then, you should include them in the Title and H1, as these tags directly affect whether the page will rank for the desired keywords.

In Text Analysis, keywords are arranged in order of importance for the topic. The best option is to add them in the same order Serpstat offers.

However, we shouldn't forget about the logic: the contents of the Title should be clear and readable. The length of the Title is limited, therefore you need to add the most important keywords in the visible part — the first 60 characters.
The same goes with the recommendations for H1.
Also, at the very bottom of the report, you'll see a summary of the errors on the page and recommendations for correcting them. These issues can negatively affect both content relevance and ranking in general. If you want to improve the SERP position of the page, make sure to fix them in a timely manner.

#3 Expanding the keyword list by including new words

Serpstat has a lot of tools for collecting keywords and expanding the keyword list, and Text Analysis is also a great option. It shows ready-made recommendations for keywords that should be included in the text. Thus, you can increase the number of all keywords for which a user can find your website.

#4 Creating a detailed copywriting assignment

Now that we've discussed the main use of the Text Analysis tool — increasing the content relevance of your website, let's move on to the next.

What if there is no content yet? To provide a good reference for a copywriter, you can also use Text Analytics. Go ahead and collect the data from the Title, H1, and Body reports.

The Body Text report will be especially helpful: you will see the text analysis on a given page (works only if you set the URL).
The Serpstat algorithm gives recommendations for reducing or increasing the text length. This is an important ranking factor, so its volume should be optimal to avoid low relevance or spam, and to organically distribute the keywords.

Use Text Analytics data to create an assignment for the copywriter. Specify:
1
The text length.
2
Relevant keywords for the Title and H1.
3
Keywords for the Body text.
