How to set up quick links for search engines on the website

Quick links are added to the site's snippet, pointing to its key sections and popular pages. They contribute to the increase in the number of visits because the users immediately see they need a resource page.

What do you need to display the website pages in the Quick Links

Search engines independently form a list of quick links. Google is based on the structure, optimization and popularity of the website pages in creating this list.

However, there is a list of recommendations that increase the likelihood of a page in quick links:
The content of H1, Title and the anchor texts of internal links leading to a specific page should be the same. At the same time, they should be short and informative.
You can put a pass-through link to the desired page, but it does not guarantee 100% hit on quick links.
It is important to work on the internal relinking of the project, focusing on the key pages.
It is necessary that links to important Web pages and sections of the site are accessible from the home page.
You must adhere to the correct website structure. At the first level — the main page, on the second — various categories and sections, on the third — subcategories. This structure is useful for indexing pages by the search engines.

It is also easier to promote such websites as they have higher levels of usability and better behavioral factors. These factors are tracked by search engines and improve the website position in search results.
You need to use a clear and easily recognizable name of the site, as all well-known brands do. Most often, extended snippets with a list of quick links and their descriptions are displayed by brand queries.
Search engines often include resource pages that are most popular with visitors to the list of quick links. For this reason, a large number of visits can help to get quick links to a specific page.

To direct more users to the page, you can make the link to the page more visible in the menu, and invite visitors to go to the desired section on the main page of the site.

You can deactivate the display of all quick links by removing the checkmark from the item: "Show in search results".

How to influence the formation of Google quick links

According to the help, Google quick links are added automatically, and now their editing is not available to webmasters.

A quick link is displayed if the project structure allows the search engine algorithms to identify the resource section corresponding to the user's request. If the bot does not find pages that may be useful to the visitor, Google's snippet will not contain such links.

To improve quick links, Google recommends creating unique, informative and short anchor texts, as well as alt attributes for internal links on the site.


Quick links are an excellent method that makes the snippet more relevant and informative. They allow you to increase visits to the site due to the display of several sections of the resource, from which the user can choose the most suitable.
Quick links are displayed only for sites that rank among the TOP-3 search results.
You cannot add links by yourself; they are generated automatically by search engine algorithms. At this moment, Google does not provide the ability to customize the display of generated links.
