Create a project for your domain in the List of Projects and launch Site Audit. Upon audit completion, go to Site Audit / Meta Tags. The section contains reports on duplicate titles and descriptions. The last step would be fixing these in one of the suggested ways:

  • remove the duplicate page from the site
  • add the Disallow directive for duplicate pages to the robots.txt
  • set meta tags «rel=canonical» and «meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"» on the duplicate pages.
How to avoid excessive redirects on your site?

Upon the completion of the side audit, you'll see excessive redirects under Site Audit/ Redirects. The report shows pages linking to the redirected page, which wastes crawling budget and reduces loading speed. We recommend setting direct links to the destination page.

The website loading times have become the crucial ranking signal in the era of mobile-first indexing. The Site Audit / Loading Speed report shows issues affecting the site loading times on mobiles and desktops, as well as suggestions on how to fix them.

How to view the top 100 search results for the tracked keyword and ranking fluctuations over custom periods?

If you have a Rank Tracker project set up, go to Rank Tracker / Positions and click one of the tracked keywords. Set the necessary time period and Serpstat will display rank changes in the top 100 search results over the specified timeframe.

How to split up the tracked keywords into groups?


At the keyword adding stage in your Rank Tracker setup, tick the keywords you’d like to assign to a group. Click Assign Group and name your group.

How to instantly get insights into your online market share?

In your Rank Tracker project, browse to Competitors. The report displays a chart on the market search traffic share for the tracked keywords. You might want to see your traffic share for a particular group of tracked keywords - simply select the group from a dropdown menu.

Enter a URL (with http / https) into the search bar on Serpstat, click Search and browse to URL Analysis / Missing Keywords. If any other page of your domain is already ranking for the suggested keyword, you’ll see that under ‘Other URLs contain’.

How to identify competitors at the URL level and perform URL vs URL analysis?

Enter a URL (with http / https) into the search bar on Serpstat, click Search and browse to URL Analysis / Competitors. The report contains a list of competing pages made up based on common keywords. Copy one or two competitor URLs and navigate to URL Analysis / Competitors. Enter the competitor URLs into the corresponding fields (or select from the suggested competitors). The diagram displays the common keywords of the three or any two of the compared pages and unique keyword of each page. The selected keywords and the rankings are presented under the diagram.

How to collect high-opportunity long-tail keywords?

Enter your competitor domain into the search bar on Serpstat, click Search and go to SEO Research / Positions. Open filters and set the number of words in a keyword equal to or more than 4, the domain’s position for a keyword - from the 1st to 20th, and the search volume - less than 30 (you may choose other ranges, give it a spin). Apply the filters and you’ll get a list of highly effective and low-to-medium competitive keywords your competitor is ranking for.

How to find unique keywords of your competitor you might have missed?

Enter your domain name into the search bar on Serpstat, click Search and browse to SEO Research / Domain vs Domain. Enter one or two competitor domains into the corresponding fields (or select from the suggested competitors) and click Compare. The diagram displays common keywords of the researched domains and unique keywords of your competitors that you might want to rank for.

How to discover your direct competitors?

Enter your domain name into the search bar on Serpstat, click Search and browse to Domain Analysis / Overview. Scroll a little bit down to the Competitors Graph. The graph displays your competition based on common keywords and similar visibility score. The queried domain is located in the upper right. The position of competitors on the graph depends on the percentage of common keywords, in two-way direction.

How to perform domain batch analysis?

Enter your domain name into the search bar on Serpstat, click Search and go to Domain Analysis / Batch Analysis. Here’s where you can bulk research up to 200 domains at a time to get aggregated stats on them. Enter the domain names, tick the necessary metrics and databases and click Get Data.

How to discover the most traffic-driving pages of your competitor?

Enter your competitor domain name into the search bar on Serpstat, click Search and browse to SEO Analysis / Top Pages. Click Export and choose ‘With FB shares’. The file export may take a few minutes and can be downloaded from Tools section. The spreadsheet presents traffic stats for each URL under Estimated Traffic field.

Rankings Flux: Time to Panic or Regular Google Updates?

Rankings fluctuations can be panic-inducing, but should you be actually concerned? SERP changes and rankings jumpings are quite common things. But how can you know if you should blame yourself for recent ranking flux or it’s the SERP, namely Google introducing/testing some algo? The answer is, compare your own fluctuation to your competitors. Click the arrow to expand the Storm chart for a keyword. If you’re fluctuating a lot, but the positions around you in Top10 are also fluctuating (high percent on the chart) , don’t freak out, you’re not doing something wrong or bad, it’s just the SERP volatility.

How to avoid keyword cannibalization and keep the SEO consistency?

Rank Tracker/Landing Pages is a tool in your marketing toolset that helps check SEO workflow, adhere to the crafted digital strategy and solve keyword cannibalization. Your workspace has a few fields: a tracked keyword, a URL that’s being optimized for the keyword and a URL that’s actually ranking for the keyword. After inputting the optimized page URL, you can monitor in Positions that the ranked page is the page you’re targeting — it will have a green circle next to the URL.

How to automatically cluster a set of keywords?

Browse to the Tools and open Grouping and Text Analytics. Create a project and upload a list of keywords. Input your domain name (you may skip this step if a website is not live yet). Next, choose clustering parameters.

Weak - keywords must have at least 3 common URLs in Top 30 search results for a keyword

Strong - at least 7 common URLs in Top 30 search results required

Soft -   cluster can be created if at least one pair of keywords has 3 or 7 common URLs

Hard - all keywords in a cluster must have 3 or 7 common URLs

Upon completion, resulting clusters can be edited or exported.

How to gauge keyword difficulty and find the easiest keywords to rank for?

Enter your query into the search bar on Serpstat and browse to Keyword Research / Keyword Selection. Sort the Keyword Difficulty column results in ascending order or export the report and sort the data in your spreadsheet software in the same way. Collect keywords with KD score from 0 to 20 to find the easiest keywords to rank for, or 20 to 40 for medium difficulty.

How to employ Serpstat Text Analytics to create a task for a copywriter?

Upon clustering completion, launch TA for a keyword cluster. Serpstat will analyze the page content of URLs from Top 10 search results for researched keywords and provide recommendations on what keywords you may want to insert into Title, H1 and Body sections of your page. The keywords are sorted in descending order based on their importance to the on-page SEO. You are free to change the form of a keyword.
